Stampin’ Up! UK CraftyHallett’s Desk Organiser

So I wanted a little organisation for my desk.  I kept loosing my note book and calculator.  Two very important things when you go to parties or card classes, and they just kept disappearing under a mountain of ink pads and stamp sets.  So it was time for a little organisation – and I came up with this

2014-11-30 12.00.36

Its perfect for what I needed.  A note book, pen, and calculator all safe in their own little folder.  And I thought how useful for other stampin’ up demos, so I cut 8 kits out with some instructions and gifted them to my  Stampin’ Up! Demo buddies when we got together last weekend.

If you would like the instructions to make this – click the link here ——> Instructions for Crafty Hallett Desk Tidy

If you make one please leave me a comment and let me know how you get on

Hope you are having a nice time and getting ready for Christmas.  Just a reminder the last order date for guaranteed Christmas Delivery is fast approaching – you have just 5 days left so please do get those last minute orders in.

Lots of love

Stampin’ Up! UK’s Swallowtail Stamp and Blendabilities

butterfly

I have to say I am loving the new Blendabilities Alcohol markers from Stampin’ Up!

I stamped this swallow tail on Velum – using Momento Ink – recommended for use with the Blendabilities.

Once it had dried I then coloured it with the three shades of coastal cabana from the pens, and added little accents with the white chalk marker.

Then once i had cut round the image I applied some Crystal Effects glue to help the butterfly curl – and sprinkled on a little dazzling diamonds to make it shimmer.

Once it was dry I mounted it on Whisper White card stock, and stamped in Smoky Slate another copy of the Swallowtail stamp so that it looked like  a shaddow.  A simple mat of Coastal Cabana card stock completes the work, and now I just am looking for a nice picture frame to put it in and its going on my office wall.

I have also been asked to run some classes in Canterbury at weekends as well as Folkestone during the week, so I have had a re-jib of the calendar and with a lot of forward planning am pleased to announce my new schedule for the next 6 months is live – here on this page

I am running two types of a class – a beginners class and a technique class – details of what these are below

Refreshments are included. I offer a  weekend  day and evening mid week time slot but I need a minimum of 4 people to run each class.

Beginners Class

The class is priced at £10 or free with a minimum order, and I supply refreshments, tools and everything you need to make 3 or 4 beautiful cards or a simple project

News, News, News

This weekend I attended Stampin’ Up! Regional day in Telford with around 350 other demos – it was such a fun event! We got presentations from other demonstrators, sneaky peeks at new products – and I cant wait to share them with you – and lots more.

I was very very shocked to hear my name called out and recognition for me and my team as a runner up in the newcomer award. I was completely gobsmacked and went very quiet – which if you know me – is very unusual! I won a lovely little spending spree which I shall be saving for the new catalogue launch – only a month away now wooo hooo!

Here is a selfie of me with two of my downline – Sharon and Jo.

Me and Gang

We also got some lovely prizes as all attendee give-aways – free ribbon, ink pads and card in the new in colours so we can start preparing samples for our customers.

Here is a quick video of the swaps I got from Telford (and a sneaky peek in my craft room!)

Hope you are having a great week. I am really looking forward to my craft night on Thursday – its been too long since I saw my ladies.

If you would like to know more about how to join stampin’ up and get to come to events like this, earn free crafting supplies and enjoy a great discount, then this please fill in the contact form below to find out more information.

Wedding RSVP screen card and envelope

I teach wedding master classes where I sit for 3 hours or more with brides to show them how to make wedding invites, favours and much more.

I was delighted to receive an invitation from one such lovely bride and wanted to push the boat out with the RSVP – what do you think?

As I am in a generous mood if you want to know how I did this, leave me a comment and I will send you a link to the video tutorial for this card. Hope you are having a lovely weekend

We have to make our own name badges – so here is mine

2014-05-10 17.37.35

The starburst saying set is just perfect for a name badge and I wonder how many other people will have used it!

We all make swaps – and here are mine – a little envelope punch board gift card holder – perfect for my business card and the instructions on how to make the envelope.

If you would like a quick video on how to make these gift card Holders – here you go

Starburst Sayings Meets World Map

Just a quick one today  – a really simple card and gift tag made using the world map stamp, and the sentiments from Starburst sayings – stamped in Pacific Point on to whisper white card stock and then layered up on Real Red Circle and Basic Grey star burst.  Some ribbon completes the card or tag.  This one really pops off the page.  Hope you like it!

Tea Light Boxes with the Scallop Top Tag Punch

2014-05-11 17.55.43

These boxes for three tea light candles are made using the scallop tag topper punch

2014-05-11 17.55.55

So I have produced a video tutorial on how to make these cute little boxes

The measurements for the box that holds three candles is

Paper Size = 12 inches x 3 1/2 inches

Score with the long side at the top at 1 1/4,      5 3/4,        6 1/2,   and     10 3/4

Score with the short side at the top along at 3/4 on both sides

The measurements for the box that holds two candles is

Paper size = 10 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches

Score with the long side at the top at 1 1/2,      4 3/4,        5 1/2,   and     8 3/4

Score with the short side at the top along at 3/4 on both sides

Decorate as you wish – I hope you enjoy making these boxes – you will need a scallop Tag Topper Punch – if you dont have one you can buy one here

Card with A Clasp Peaceful Petals & Morning Meadow

When I saw this card from Brandy  I knew I wanted to have a go.

I didnt have the same stamp sets, but it was easy to switch them out with Peaceful Petals and Morning Meadow.

I used Wisteria wonder and Soft Suede as my card & ink colours – I love the way its turned out and it was so quick and easy to make.  Watch the video to see – although warning – there are spoilers there about the new catalogue – the US get their new catalogue a whole month before us – so lovelies in Europe you will have to wait till 1st July to see the card she is referring to!

Less is More – One Layer Thank You

I love the Less is More Blog – it always has such a great load of people contributing to it each week, and if ever I am stuck for an idea or Mr Mojo has taken a hike I find something there to get me back at my craft table creating.

This week’s challenge is one layer thank you cards

I really love the Stippled Blossoms set from Stampin Up! and I usually use it for fairly complex fussy cards with lots and lots of layers, ribbons and dimensions, so I thought it would be fun to try and use the set as a one layer

I started with a Naturals White card base  and masked off an area using post it notes – like this

2014-05-10 17.11.16

Then using Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant as my two colours for the flowers and Wild Wasabi and Garden Green as the two colours for the leaves I started stamping flowers randomly on and off the masked layers.

I then used the Thank You sentiment from the Happy Watercolour set in Black Stayzon – and then took my Marker pens in Elegant Egg Plant and Wild Wasabi and drew two parallel lines down the card to finish off and create the illusion of a layer.

2014-05-10 17.42.08

I am slightly just a little bit sad that this stamp set is on the Retired List and will only be available until the end of June, but hey ho – I have my set and will cherish it for many years to come as its so pretty – and now I have proved that I can do simple one layer cards or vintage over the top fussy ones with it!

Petite Petal Punch – Still on Backorder

20140123-001925.jpg

It’s cards like this one that have caused the Petite Petal Punch to be so popular WORLDWIDE that Stampin Up! have had a serious backorder problem with them for the past 3 months – as soon as they get some in, they sell out again.  I appreciate it has been a very frustrating time for some of my ladies who are still waiting on orders from March and April.

I can only apologize that its taken so long, and reassure you that everyone is doing their best to get more manufactured as quickly as possible and back in the warehouse in Frankfurt so that they can be sent to you.

I think I have spoken to everyone who is patiently waiting and I can only reassure you that we are doing all we can

Grab em while they are STILL HERE!

Very soon we will be getting the retired list of stamps for the UK, hopefully by the end of the month.

I am having a RETIREMENT PARTY – We will be making 4 projects with some of the retiring stamps, cardstocks and designer scrapbook paper and any of my local customers and friends are invited!.  The Party is outside of my usual class schedule – so to come just email me on mrscarolinehallett@gmail.com.  Details Are below

When:- Thursday 22nd May 2014
Time: 7pm-9pm
Where:  CraftyHallett HQ – Folkestone
Cost – FREE but there are only 8 spaces so book to make sure you can come play…..

In the meantime – a little bird tells me that the retiring in colour sets are always the first things to sell out – so if you want any of these you had better order now rather than be disappointed – as once they are gone, they are gone.

In Colours

I have stocked up on the Ink Refill so I know my ink pad will be good to go for some time yet.  I am also adding the in colour coredinations 12 x 12 sheets as they work out so reasonable.

Spiral Spins for Making A Point to Have a Party!

2014-05-05 19.35.58

Whilst I was visiting Brian’s website yesterday I spied this rather marvellous card…

I have had the Making a Point stamp set for months and never once got it inky (its one of the seasonal Occasions Hostess Sets) – so this was a perfect card to get at least one of them out of the box before we have to say good bye to them.  The Spiral Spins are lovely stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo and they just POPpitty POP POP off the page.

If you want the Making a Point Stamp Set you will have to be quick – we only have until 30th June before it retires – so GET IN TOUCH if you would like to host a party – and this set could be yours for FREE – just fill in the form at the end of this post

Making a point

Thxs, Thxs, Thxs for Other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and Sons that cook dinner

You know how it is – sometimes as a crafter you sit down with a type of card that you “have” to make and the ideas just dont come.  Usually when that happens I just play with what I have until I am happy, or I take a walk through Pinterest or SplitCoast Stampers until I see something pretty and then I CASE it.  What’s CASE?  Copy and Share Everything!  As long as  when you publish it on facebook or pinterest or your blog you credit the demo its perfectly OK, and helps to get you through those moments when you just are stumped with what to do for a particular stamp set or card.

Here is a sweet little thank you card which I CASEd from Brian King – who is a rather amazing American Stampin Up Demo – he comes up with some beautiful cards – have a visit to his website .  His card originally had 4 sets of words in Ombre style and the word was Yay!  I decided to make mine as a thank you card for my son who has invited us to dinner this week – so its a perfect “young persons” card with Thxs (short hand for thank you – or so I am told!)

So THXs to Brian for the Idea and THXs to Sam for cooking for me and darling hubby x

Hope you are having a lovely week.  Lots of love  Caroline xx2014-05-05 19.36.14

Hello Sailor Meets the World Map and Flips for Thinlits Frames!

2014-05-05 19.38.55Here is a card I have made using exclusively Stampin’ Up! products.  To start I cut a piece of Night of Navy A4 card stock to measure 5 1/2 inches x 8 inches.  This I passed through the big shot using the Thinlets Frame Label Card, with the extra portion at the end poking up so as I have a third fold.

Then I used the Hello Sailor stamp sets stamping in Night of Navy Ink and Soft Suede.  The world map was stamped in soft suede and passed through the die cutter again to make the panels, which I just trimmed to be 1/4 inch smaller all round.

This is a cute card for your husband, lover or friend – to buy any of the products used please clickky click click on the pictures below to be automagically transported to my website shop where you can purchase them and have them delivered by UPS for just £4.95 to your home – no matter how little or how big your order is – one flat fee… How lovely.

What a Lovely Weekend

What a Lovely Weekend

Here is a quick post of a card I made this weekend, its one of the cards we are making for our Card Class tomorrow night. I used marina mist designer scrapbook papers cut 1 inch wide x 5 inches long and layered on top a circle on which i stamped the bike from the Cycle Celebrations stamp set – I used a happy birthday sentiment to complete the card. SIMPLES.

Wishing you all a good week – check back tomorrow and all this week to see the other cards I made.

Say Oh Hello! wave goodbye…

Not long now before the retiring list for the UK stamp sets come out – although they are widely expected to be the same as the US lists which means that we will be saying good bye to one of my favourites – the Oh Hello set

Order now with me for just £17.95 in clear mount

I have made some sweet little thank you cards with them – they are black card stock measuring 3 x 3 and have an inner piece of 2.75 x 2.75 inch smoky slate card so you can write on them.

I made a whole selection of them in each of the Brights Colour Inks and Card.  What do you think?

Oh hello thank you

Project Life coming to Stampin’ Up

I cannot tell you how excited I was to hear the news that Stampin’ Up and Project Life were collaborating on a new range to be launched in the UK at the beginning of July.

header_projectlife_april1514_eng

I love traditional scrapbooking, but have always felt daunted by the whole expanse of 12 x 12 and those amazing layouts that people do that take hours of work and planning and coordination always phase me – my motto is that the “perfect is the enemy of the good”.  I enjoy the process and Project Life is just PERFECT for me.

I have ordered a Selphy printer for my photos – it prints them in a quality as good as the shops (dye sublimination style) and in the right sizes 4 x 6 or 3 x 4.

To keep me occupied before my supplies arrive, and the kits from Stampin up I was playing this afternoon with a little wallet and 3 filer cards – sized 3 x4 inches with rounded corners – what do you think?

b6a1541e-d4fa-489f-b5ea-ab878c167725wallpaper

I will be running a one day workshop on Project Life in July, but in the mean time here is a video all about them…

Project Life is a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

‪#‎weloveDS‬ – A homage to Demo Support

Indulge me please as I join in an INTERNATIONAL homage to our Demo Support Colleagues at Stampin Up

These lovely guys and gals (and particularly the lovely CHRIS – pictured below) who helps us with our orders, speaks soothingly to me in German when I have messed up an order, or need to get replacements for things that got broke along the way, or patiently explain to us that the PETITE PETAL PUNCH is out of stock WORLDWIDE and that its because we are all so good at what we do and the products are so popular, and just as soon as they can they will slip one in an order to you….

I would like to dedicate this blog post and page to them  – just for today in support of  Epic Demonstrator Support Appreciation Week – trending worldwide under the #weloveDS hash tag.  It is an opportunity for us to show our love and appreciation for the fabulously helpful DS agents who faithfully fix our messes, clear up confusion, and pass along our opinions, all with a smile and encouragement!

Thank you, merci beaucoup, vielen danke, dank je wel.

Telford

This slightly mad photo of the Pinkies Stampin Up Demonstrators was taken at Convention in November last year and pictures a whole group of us with the lovely Chris 🙂

So that’s it from me today, apart from a photo of the card I sent to them to say thank you

2014-03-30 13.02.27

This was cased from a card from fellow demonstrator the lovely Lizy  – thank you for sharing – it was a perfectly sweet card to send to Demo Support to thank them, with a little bit of everything on it – punches, dies, stamps, DSP, embossing, pearls – and an envelope made on the EPB!

Thats it from me today – have a good week everyone xxxx

Ooooh everyone likes a present don’t they

20140412-175206.jpg

Here are some little envelopes I have made with the envelope punch board – dead simple – start with a piece of paper 6 inches by 4 inches (you get 6 of these per 12 x 12 sheet.

Score it on the long side at 1 1/2 inches, fold up and glue on each side to form a small pocket – this is where you can tuck a gift card, a voucher, a business card sized something. Then take the other end and line up in the envelope punch board at 2 3/4 and punch on both sides – fold the flap over slot in the pocket et voila – yours to decorate as you wish….

Bet you are dying to see what’s inside ? Well let me tell you there are some fun prizes in them and you only get one when you place an order between now and the end of June….

Best get shopping then ? Or see you at a class soon
